About thephoenix

To teach individuals and groups how to delve into the inner workings of their mind to gain insight on where they are at in relation to how their behaviors are governed by their perceptions of the world and themselves.  We want to find out if there are any hidden lies that we are acting upon as Truth; and if so, we want to expose those triggers and to what degree, if any, these lies are controlling our attitudes, decisions and actions in the present.  This knowledge is designed to be highly effective at altering behaviors when used in conjunction with a professional counselor.   Our perceptions of ourselves, reality and how we respond and behave can be impacted and to some degrees be controlled by the lies from the abuser, the abuse itself and the beliefs we created to cope with the abuse.  To the degree we can free ourselves from this control we will experience true freedom & healing on much deeper levels.   Our foundation is dedicated to the healing and recovery of all survivors.  So that we move past being a victim and even move past being a survivor into the realm of being renewed and restored to the amazing person we were meant to be before our lives were impacted by incest, rape and abuse. Our website, videos, work-shops, workbooks, inspirational speaking and all that we teach are designed to enhance professional counseling.   We need help with building a new website, video taping segments, filing with IRS, and fundraising efforts.

For Those Hurting, Please be Thankful For What you do Have!

It is so easy for me to dwell on the negative things in my life. When I realize how blessed I am to be alive and in excellent health, then the negative things seem like they can be overcome. Take a good look at the posts on this website. So many stories, so many people hurting in so many ways. Then, go look in the mirror and tell yourself: "My problems are not that bad in relationship to the others!" Get on the Internet or get some books from the Library to learn how so many others in areas such as Africa, India, or Haiti deal with extreme poverty everyday.

Try to focus on solutions to your situation. If you are Christian, Jewish, or other type of religion; fellowship with others at a place of worship. Do you believe in prayer? Pray and ask others to pray with you! If you need help with overcomming an addiction, or other "life issue", get help! There are many types of help. Groups such as AA, NA, Support Groups, and Celebrate Recovery have helped many. Need money and a job? Asking for donations is fine? Maybe try to think of doing a temporary job. I see people every day with Masters Degrees, that can't find work in their profession; the are working any job the can find now.
